A fund-raising family festival to be held this weekend is expected to generate more than $2,000 to support the Crescenta Valley Town Council and other local groups, community leaders said.

Entertainment and more than 150 craft and food booths will be featured at the third annual Good Time Arts and Crafts Country Jamboree to be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Crescenta Valley County Park, 3901 Dunsmore Ave. Admission is free; funds are raised through vendor commissions.

Sponsored by the Town Council, the festival is the single annual event used to raise money for mailings and other expenses of the council, a quasi-governmental committee of elected members who serve as advisers on local issues to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Candidates seeking election to the Town Council on Nov. 4 are expected to meet with voters during the jamboree.

More than half of the revenue will be used to support other local activities and groups in the semirural, unincorporated community at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, said Sharon Beauchamp, jamboree chairman.

The Air Force Junior ROTC program at Crescenta Valley High School also plans to raise funds by serving a pancake breakfast at the park both days from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tickets, at $3 each, may be purchased in advance from ROTC members or by contacting Beauchamp at (818) 248-7624.

Items to be sold will include saddles, mop dolls and Halloween and Christmas decorations.

Also planned is a petting zoo sponsored by the Wildlife Way Station, a gunfighters show, horse-drawn hayrides, pony rides, and other children’s rides and game booths.

Entertainment will be provided by two country-Western bands, the Tujunga All-Stars and Southern Highway.
