Reasoning on Phoenix House

In an Oct. 19 letter to the editor about the proposed Phoenix House facility in Lake View Terrace, Jocelyn Furginson wrote that Phoenix House made efforts to meet with as many “reasonable” neighbors as possible to discuss their program.

As a Lake View Terrace resident, I take offense at the inference. Let’s define “unreasonable” neighbors by Phoenix House standards: those neighbors unwilling to embrace their proposed program at face value without reading the conditional use permit application filed by Phoenix House; those neighbors who are requesting an environmental impact report, and those neighbors requesting safeguards so their neighborhood will not be negatively impacted.

Is this really “unreasonable?”
