San Diego : Boys, 14 and 9, Find Their Parents Slain
Two Mira Mesa boys returned home from school Thursday and found their parents shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide.
The 14- and 9-year-old boys discovered the bodies of their mother and father in a bedroom of their house on Hillery Drive, Police Sgt. Steve Santi said. Between the bodies was a semiautomatic handgun thought to have been used in the shootings.
The names of the victims were not released, pending notification of adult relatives, Santi said.
Shots were heard about 9 a.m. shortly after the boys left for school, a neighbor told police after the bodies were found about 2:40 p.m. The neighbor did not report the shots at the time.
