Westlake 31, Channel Islands 8--Quarterback Brian Field completed 10 of 18 for 161 yards and three touchdowns as Westlake (2-6, 2-3) cruised at home. Field added a touchdown on a seven-yard run midway through the second quarter.
Sophomore wide receiver Billy Miller was the recipient of two touchdown passes, one of six yards on the first play of the second quarter and another of 50 yards with 17 seconds left in the half.
Dan Thompson opened the scoring for Westlake on a nine-yard reception from Field midway through the first quarter. Kicker Scott Morris rounded out Westlake’s scoring with a 40-yard field goal and four extra points.
