SIMI VALLEY : Applicants Sought for Advisory Board
The city of Simi Valley is seeking applicants interested in serving on its 18-member Youth Employment Service advisory board.
The board advises the City Council on youth employment issues and promotes the hiring of young people. Youth Employment Service is a city-funded agency that refers young people, ages 13 to 22, to jobs and prepares them for interviews.
Eight positions on the advisory board must be filled: two student representatives from local high schools, two representatives from local businesses, one at-large member, two representatives from government agencies and one alternate.
The advisory board meets at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the City Hall Community Room, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road. Application forms, which must be submitted by Nov. 20, can be obtained by calling the Youth Employment Service office, 522-4473.
