Help-Wanted Ads Increase in October: The job market as measured by help-wanted advertising improved slightly in October, but results varied greatly by region, the Conference Board said. The research group’s help-wanted ad index rose to 92 in October from 90 in September. The figure is obtained by comparing help-wanted advertising volume in 51 newspapers against a 1967 base of 100.
