The City of Santa Fe Springs is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the killing of three people in a quiet city park during the pre-dawn hours of Nov. 22.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives said Monday they are seeking Enrique Cavazos, 20, for questioning in connection with the killings and for a parole violation. For more than a week, detectives have been searching for information that would lead to a suspect in the shooting deaths of Dean Belmontes, 28, of Santa Fe Springs; Joey Roco, 19, of Pico Rivera and his sister, April Montes, 18, of Norwalk.
Their bodies were found about 6 a.m. in Lake Center Park, several hours after residents reported hearing gunshots. They were the first murders in Santa Fe Springs in at least two years.
