Glendale : Charities Receive Grants
The Glendale Community Foundation made several grants to Glendale charities at its annual meeting in November, bringing its total in grants for the year to more than $100,000.
November grants included $388 from the educational endowment fund to R. D. White Elementary School to laminate teaching materials such as maps and posters, and $3,952 from the Maryon Greaves Endowment Fund given to the Salvation Army for a preschool day-care scholarship.
Several matching grants were made, with recipients doing the additional fund raising needed for their projects. La Canada High School received $3,500 toward the purchase of lockers for the girls’ athletic teams, and Camp Max Straus, run by the Jewish Big Brothers, received $2,000 toward a fire alarm system.
