The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27: Glendale South Glendale Avenue, 1200 block--Thieves vandalized a two-story house after entering through an unlocked window between Dec. 18 and 23. They destroyed interior walls and furnishings with spray-painted profanities, stole a stove and a microwave oven, and caused extensive water damage by breaking the toilet. Corona Drive, 1400 block--Thieves entered a house that has a security door by kicking through the drywall behind a small water valve door between 8:45 a.m. and 7:05 p.m. Dec. 21. They stole small items that fit through the opening, including two VCRs, a telescope and jewelry of unknown value. Pioneer Drive, 400 block--A man was found dead in a room at a hotel at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 21. Cocaine, drug paraphernalia and weapons were found in the room. North Glendale Avenue, 200 block--A man and a woman fled from a department store at 2:10 p.m. Dec. 21 with numerous gold bracelets, valued at $47,000. Employees chased them to their vehicle, but they escaped. Thompson Avenue, 1100 block--Two women and three men were arrested on suspicion of an attempted robbery at 9:51 p.m. Dec. 21. During the incident, a man with a knife exited a car containing several other passengers and attempted to rob a male pedestrian by holding a knife to the man’s neck. The attacker fled when the man’s chow dog chased him. Verdugo Road and Rock Glen Avenue--A man who tried to take a woman’s purse fled after the woman’s 12-year-old son hit the attempted thief in the head with a Christmas tin he had in a bag at 10:40 p.m. Dec. 22. Brand Boulevard, 100 block--Two men leaving the Zeidler and Zeidler jewelry store in the Glendale Galleria at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 23 were robbed by a gunman of $5,844 cash and checks in a bank bag. Coronado Drive, 900 block--Burglars pried a screen off a window and entered a house between 3:15 and 6 p.m. Dec. 23, stealing a TV and VCR, valued at $650. Mount Carmel Drive and Glenoaks Boulevard--A karaoke machine, clothing and baseball equipment, valued at $3,100, were stolen from a locked car between noon and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 23. North Brand Boulevard, 100 block--Between Dec. 24 and 27, two laser printers, valued at $2,300, were stolen from a business. East Palmer Avenue, 1300 block--A TV, three VCRs and a watch, valued at $1,925, were stolen from a house between Dec. 25 and 27. Riverside Drive, 1600 block--Burglars stole jewelry and other items of unknown value from a house between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 26. West Palmer Avenue, 300 block--A man and a woman followed an elderly woman from the bank to her apartment, where they posed as apartment management employees and began to measure her windows at 3:20 p.m. Dec. 26. When they left, $200 was gone from the woman’s purse. South Street, 500 block--A motorist, apparently angered by a passing bicyclist, followed him home and then punched him in the face, breaking his nose, at 6 p.m. Dec. 26. North Brand Boulevard, 100 block--Two VCRs, a FAX machine, a TV, 29 Macintosh computers and two laptop computers, of unknown value, were stolen from an advertising company on Dec. 26 or 27. South Brand Boulevard, 1000 block--A gas station attendant was robbed of $250 by a gunman at 9:35 p.m. Dec. 27. La Canada Flintridge Hampstead Road, 4200 block--Two air compressors, valued at $2,150, were stolen from a house under construction on Dec. 23 or 24. Eagle Rock Eagle Rock Boulevard, 4700 block--Thieves entered a business with a crowbar and stole electronic equipment and other property, valued at $3,300, between Dec. 18 and 21. Eagle Rock Boulevard, 4800 block--A man put a knife to a man’s belly and robbed him of a wallet with $35 at 11:35 p.m. Dec. 21. Merton Avenue, 2300 block--Car accessories and a stereo, valued at $2,395, were stolen from a vehicle in a carport between 4 and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 27. Echo Park White Knoll Drive, 1000 block--A man broke into a house, held a knife to a sleeping woman and raped her at 4 a.m. Dec. 21. Sargent Court, 1600 block--A burglar crawled through a window of an apartment and stole a TV and video equipment, valued at $1,759, between 8:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 23. Crestmont Avenue, 3600 block--A man hit a woman in the head with a bottle and stole her purse and money, valued at $540, at 9 p.m. Dec. 24. Atwater Fletcher Drive and Larga Avenue--Two women distracted a female victim and stole her purse and wallet, valued at $2,685, at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 25. Glassell Park Brilliant Drive, 3900 block--A TV and stereo, valued at $2,500, were stolen from a house between 1 and 3 p.m. Dec. 24. Highland Park York Boulevard, 6400 block--A man with a club robbed a gas station attendant of $100 cash at 5:35 p.m. Dec. 22. Avenue 54 and Figueroa Street--Two people entering their car at 7:15 p.m. Dec. 22 were robbed of the vehicle at gunpoint by three men. Figueroa Street, 4700 block--Burglars pried open the side door of a house and stole a TV and video equipment, valued at $3,010, on Dec. 23 or 24. Marmion Way, 4800 block--Shots were fired into a house at 4 a.m. Dec. 24. The bullets pierced the roof and struck the carpet in a room where a man was sleeping, but he was uninjured. Avenue 45 and Figueroa Street--Two men with a rifle robbed a person at a gas station of $200 cash at 1:35 a.m. Dec. 25. Figueroa Street and Avenue 56--A man using an automated teller was robbed at gunpoint of $20 cash by two men at 8:56 a.m. Dec. 25. North Avenue 57, 100 block--Burglars pried the bars off an apartment window and stole a stereo, valued at $1,850, between 7:30 and 11 p.m. Dec. 26. Avenue 43 and Figueroa Street--A male motorist was robbed of his car at 12:20 a.m. Dec. 27 in a parking facility. The driver said a woman flagged him down as he drove through the parking lot before she, another woman and a man ordered the victim out of his car. Los Feliz Tracy Street, 3700 block--Thirty five leather jackets, valued at $2,800, were stolen from a car on Dec. 21 or 22. North Kenmore Avenue, 1700 block--A man knocked a woman to the ground and stole her purse and money, valued at $372, at 1:35 a.m. Dec. 22. Commonwealth Avenue, 1500 block--Two men exiting a vehicle in an alley were robbed at gunpoint of money and jewelry, valued at $328, at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 22. Franklin Avenue, 4900 block--Video equipment and clothing, valued at $2,490, were stolen from an apartment between noon and 4 p.m. Dec. 23. North Vermont Avenue, 1700 block--A bank teller was robbed of $384 cash at 1:50 p.m. Dec. 26, by a man who said he had a gun. Mt. Washington Crane Boulevard, 400 block--Two men entered a house through a window and stole a TV and video equipment, valued at $1,460, between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 23. Silver Lake Perlita Avenue, 3300 block--Thieves ransacked an apartment and took jewelry and a TV, valued at $3,020, between 12:40 and 7 p.m. Dec. 21. Sunset Boulevard and Hyperion Avenue--Eleven witnesses reported seeing an alleged gang member point a handgun at an RTD policeman while firing at rival gang members at 6 p.m. Dec. 21. Police shot and wounded the male suspect. Waverly Drive, 2600 block--A man and a woman robbed a female walking on the street of a purse and jewelry, valued at $370, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21. Kenilworth Avenue, 2300 block--A woman who had exited and locked her vehicle was robbed of her purse and wallet, valued at $100, at 11:10 a.m. Dec. 23, by a man who exited a nearby car. Hyperion Avenue, 2900 block--Two men and a woman were arrested by police after allegedly grabbing a computer printer, telephone and answering machine, valued at $2,030, from a business at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 23. Sunset Boulevard, 3300 block--Two men with a handgun entered a business and robbed an employee of $200 at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 23. Alger Street, 4500 block--Burglars pried open the door of a warehouse and stole industrial equipment, valued at $4,500, on Dec. 23 or 24. Hyperion Avenue, 2000 block--A stereo, valued at $1,800, was stolen through the rear door of an unlocked house on Dec. 24 or 25. Sunset Boulevard, 3300 block--A man reportedly used a key to enter a church, where he stole musical instruments, valued at $12,000, on Christmas Day at 2:45 p.m.
