Marge Schott, the Reds’ owner, has asked baseball to give her until Jan. 25 to respond to preliminary findings in the game’s investigation of alleged racial slurs, her lawyer said.

Robert Bennett said he received the report just before Christmas. He declined to discuss its contents.
