The Doe’s Life Became Dear to a Hunter
I’m glad Ron Lancaster has stopped going out in the woods with a gun in his hands because in my view he was not a hunter. The ownership of a firearm and a hunting license does not instill the qualities of an ethical hunter in a person.
The fact that he shot at a group of deer from “about 400 yards away” shows that he lacked the judgment, patience and skills of a hunter.
I give Lancaster credit for tracking down the deer and ending its misery. At least he finished the obligation that he put himself under when he shot the deer.
