RTC Sets HomeFed Liquidation Auctions
The Resolution Trust Corp. California Sales Center will hold a series of auctions, starting Saturday, to liquidate the housing inventory of HomeFed Bank, the largest saving and loan to collapse in California when it went under the RTC’s conservatorship last July.
Ninety-two single-family homes, which had been listed from $100,000 to $850,000, will be auctioned Saturday and Sunday at the Westin Hotel, Los Angeles Airport, beginning at 1 p.m., with registration at 11 a.m.
The auction next Sunday will feature only San Fernando Valley homes.
The 92 homes represent about 30% of the total value of HomeFed’s residential assets, which will be auctioned monthly through June.
More details and a free brochure are available by calling 1-800/229-2501 or visiting the auction sales office, 9100 S. Sepulveda Blvd., in the Westchester area of Los Angeles.
