Gospel Honors: Amy Grant is among the nominees for top Gospel Music Assn. awards, but Sandi Patti, who was voted gospel’s top female vocalist for 11 straight years, didn’t make the finalist cut this time around. Grant, chosen artist of the year in 1992, is a finalist for that honor again with 4HIM, Michael English, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman. Grant is also up for female vocalist of the year with Cindy Morgan, Kathy Troccoli, Susan Ashton and Twila Paris. The male vocalist nominees are Bruce Carroll, Larnelle Harris, English, Smith and Chapman. Winners will be announced April 1 and the ceremonies will be seen on cable TV’s Family Channel.
