Marketing Agreement: AST Research Inc. and TE Electronics, the former computer manufacturing business of Tandy Corp., have signed an agreement to provide products to each other.

Under the agreement, Irvine-based AST will sell Tandy products under the AST name and vice versa. The agreement applies to products in the portable and pen computing areas, but the companies declined to be more specific.

Ft. Worth-based TE Electronics, which the parent company is preparing to spin off as a separate company, produces the Grid Systems line of pen computers, or those designed to recognize handwriting.
