Man Fatally Shot in Fight During Party
BUENA PARK — A 23-year-old Cypress man was killed early Sunday in what police described as a gang-related shooting during a fight that broke out at a party.
The victim, Richard Diaz Arrellano, was shot seven times and died at a home in the 8300 block of San Clemente Way, said Sgt. Jim Dixon of the Buena Park police. Using a description of a car seen leaving the party, police arrested two men and a male juvenile a couple of miles away.
Held in Buena Park jail on suspicion of murder are Roel Villamayor, 18, of San Bernardino, and Robin Moe, 19, of Anaheim. A 16-year-old Buena Park youth, who police believe did the shooting, is being held at Orange County Juvenile Hall. A semiautomatic rifle believed to be the murder weapon was confiscated from the car, Dixon said.
Members of two rival gangs apparently showed up at the same party, and that touched off the 12:15 a.m. shooting, Dixon said.
“Apparently, somebody found out that a guy was from another gang and the bullets started flying,” Dixon said.
