Britain Invites Germans to Sea Battle Anniversary

LONDON — The Royal Navy said Friday it has invited German veterans of the Battle of the Atlantic to 50th anniversary commemorations in May.
German veterans from the submarine fleet of Admiral Karl Doenitz have been invited to join a march by 2,000 sailors and war survivors through Liverpool, where the British directed the 68-month campaign, the war’s longest.
