OUTLOOK Quezida, who was the varsity coach from 1973-84, returns to La Habra. Quezida’s teams won three league titles and qualified for the playoffs seven times in 12 seasons. “I resigned so I could coach my son’s Little League team, and when the opportunity came up to coach again, I decided to give it a one-year try,” Quezida said. Quezida also is the girls’ athletic director. His first order of business will be finding a replacement for catcher Brian Reed, who will miss the season after suffering a knee injury playing football. Huff and Cisneros, two promising newcomers, are vying for the starting position. Volkert is the team’s top pitcher. He’s an honors student who has drawn interest from Stanford and Pepperdine. Quezida admits it will take some time for him and his players to adjust. “I don’t know much about this team,” he said. “I basically stayed away from the program the past eight years because I didn’t want the coaches thinking I was looking over their shoulders.”
