JPL Names Dawson Associate Director
A 30-year employee of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory became associate director on Monday.
Kirk M. Dawson, who had been assistant laboratory director of JPL’s Technical Divisions since 1987, will oversee institutional infrastructure and information systems and direct the lab’s management plans and processes.
The La Canada Flintridge resident joined JPL in 1962 and has had a number of technical and managerial positions.
Dawson will succeed Dr. Duane F. Dipprey, who is retiring. The 40-year veteran of JPL has been associate director since 1991.
