TOPANGA CANYON : Hearing Delayed for Canyon Oaks Plan
A public hearing on the controversial Canyon Oaks country club and luxury housing project proposed for the northern summit of Topanga Canyon was postponed until June so Los Angeles County officials could review revised plans.
The county’s Regional Planning Commission was to begin deliberating on the project Wednesday and nearly 100 Topanga activists crowded the board’s downtown meeting room to testify for and against the development.
But last-minute changes in drainage plans for the 257-acre project and the proposed relocation of two small lakes forced county planning officials to ask for a delay.
