Countywide : Volunteers Needed for Trails Panel
Volunteers are needed to join a county panel that will spend several months studying the region’s hiking and equestrian trails and develop a master plan to connect them, officials said.
Officials are looking for an equal number of residents from the eastern and western portions of the county to represent the constituencies of mountain bikers, equestrian users, hikers, racing and touring cyclists and private-sector employers.
Nominations should be made by the end of the day Friday, said Ron Blakemore, administrator of the county’s Regional Trails and Pathways Program.
Nominations for east county representatives also can be made by 5 p.m. Monday to Laura Kuhn, a deputy planning director in Simi Valley, at 583-6875. Blakemore can be reached at 654-3962.
