Getting Recognition: Dolly Parton isn’t eligible for an Oscar for her songwriting efforts on “I Will Always Love You,” the record-breaking Whitney Houston remake from “The Bodyguard.” But Parton is the first recipient of a new annual award from the Assn. of Independent Publishers, created to honor song hits in motion pictures that are ineligible for Academy Award consideration because they were not written specifically for a movie. Parton originally recorded “I Will Always Love You” as a country hit in 1974.
