Crespi’s Carden Gains Academic Eligibility
Crespi High outfielder Kyle Carden, one of the team’s top offensive players last season, has regained his academic eligibility. Carden, who was declared ineligible during the basketball season, was in uniform but did not play during the Celts’ 10-5 victory over Loyola on Monday.
Last season, Carden hit .361 with 20 runs batted in. Coach Scott Muckey said he was planning to use Carden as the starting right fielder and No. 3 hitter.
Carden returns just before the Celts (8-1, 4-0 in Mission League play) play rival Notre Dame, which is tied with Crespi and Alemany for first in the league. Crespi will travel to Notre Dame for Saturday’s game.
