Disco Ducks: KROQ’s (106.7) April Fool’s Day prank turned into a resounding success. On Thursday, the alternative rock station played only songs from the ‘70s. “A lot of people freaked out in the morning,” says KROQ intern Sean Jordan. But as the day progressed, listeners got into the groove. “We have six request lines,” Jordan says. “‘They were lit up all day long. The phones didn’t stop ringing.” Among the most requested tunes were “YMCA” by the Village People and “Heartbeat Is a Lovebeat” by the DeFranco Family.
