California Haters Can Hit the Road

Re “What’s California Got to Brag About?” (Letters in View, Feb. 21): If we have nothing to brag about, why are so many people settling here?

You can’t imagine how wonderful California was in the old days before all these people came. We didn’t even lock our doors. The roads (no freeways) weren’t crowded. Beautiful orange and lemon groves everywhere.

If letter writer Alison Weinstein doesn’t like what she found in California, why doesn’t she go back to her Philadelphia suburb--and take 50 other newcomers with her.
