Sisters Finish 1-2 in Weightlifting Championships

Sisters Gina and Cara Heads of Newport Beach finished first and second in the 17-and-under division at the United States weightlifting junior national championships Sunday in Blane, Minn.

Gina, a junior at Newport Harbor High School, lifted a combined 142.5 kilograms in the clean-and-jerk and the snatch. Cara, a sophomore, lifted a combined 132.5 kilograms.
