Manilow to Sing at Arena Opening
TIMES STAFF WRITER
ANAHEIM — A concert by singer Barry Manilow will be the kickoff event in a three-week grand opening celebration for the new $103-million Anaheim Arena.
The managers of the arena have been mum on the scheduling for the gala opening, but confirmed the June 19 concert after word about the performance was mentioned in a Barry Manilow fan club newsletter.
Tentatively, the opening will start June 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a media tour of the facility. On June 18, an open house will be held.
