Gangs Don’t Merit Rights
Regarding “Powers of Arrest Are Expanded in Gang Battle,” (Times Valley Edition, April 8), when will Mark Silverstein and others of his ilk at the ACLU learn that action must be taken to bring back our communities to those who contribute to them, the law-abiding citizens.
Who is the ACLU trying to protect? Gang members? I hope that Silverstein reads another Times article from the same day, “There’s No Turning the Other Cheek,” by Javier Rodriquez H., who describes his own son’s death by gang members.
Rodriguez H. unfortunately has learned first-hand that his “community has been invaded by a culture of death and terror; it is thriving.”
