Obituaries : Estelle R. Brisker; Interior Designer, Activist and Professor
Estelle R. Brisker, 74, interior designer, activist and professor at Cal State Long Beach. Born in New York City and educated at Hunter College and UCLA, she taught in the Long Beach school’s Department of Fine Arts. She served on the National Accreditation Board for Schools of Interior Design and was an interior designer. A founding member of the National Board of Architects/Designers/Planners for Social Responsibility, she recently received the group’s award for lifetime achievement. Mrs. Brisker was also active in Wellness Community, which assists cancer patients and their families. On April 23 in Los Angeles of cancer.
