In Century League boys’ volleyball:
Canyon 3, El Modena 1--Matt Cohen had 14 kills and 19 digs and Steve Whelan had 12 kills and 15 blocks for host Canyon (8-4, 5-3) which won, 15-4, 15-13, 7-15, 15-13. El Modena is 6-2 in league.
Valencia 3, Orange 0--Kevin Deck had 16 kills and Duy Do had 14 kills for visiting Valencia (9-5, 7-1), which won 15-1, 16-14, 17-15.
Western 3, Villa Park 2--Eric Temple had 31 kills and Josh Morgan had 47 assists for Western (2-14, 1-7), which won, 5-15, 15-7, 13-15, 17-15, 15-13.
In Sea View League boys’ track and field:
Saddleback 87, Newport Harbor 49--Identical twins Mel and Matt Lete helped Saddleback (6-1) move out of a second-place tie with Newport Harbor (5-2). Mel won the 100 (11.1), the 110 hurdles (15.1), the 300 hurdles (39.7) and the high jump (5-10) and Matt won the 400 (52.1), finished second in the 110 hurdles (15.2) and long jump (20-2) and anchored the winning 1,600-relay team.
In Olympic League boys’ track and field:
Orange Lutheran 73, Calvary Chapel 59--Jermy Palmer won the 1,600 (4:48.5) and 3,200 (10:37.9) for Orange Lutheran (8-1, 6-0), which won its second league championship in three seasons.
In Garden Grove league girls’ track and field:
La Quinta 70, Bolsa Grande 55--Freshmen Rachael Pizzo won the 880 (2:42), mile (6:30.3) and two mile (14:27.5) and helped the La Quinta mile-relay team to a victory (4:31.9).
In Century League golf:
El Modena 200, Foothill 206--Brian Madden shot two-over 37 and teammate David Montgomery shot 38 at Tustin Ranch for El Modena (8-0), which completed its first undefeated league championship. Alicia Allison of Foothill shot 38.
In the Garden Grove League:
Pacifica 203, La Quinta 238--Sophomores Jeremy Marquez and Matt Sisneros shot a two-over 38s for Pacifica (8-2, 5-0) at Mile Square. Medalist Alex Yi shot 37 for host La Quinta (0-6 in league).
In the Orange League:
Valencia 181, Magnolia 265--Cody Neptune shot a two-under 33 and John Lee shot 35 for Valencia (14-4, 6-2) at Dad Miller.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Trabuco Hills 185, Laguna Hills 200--Justin Grandy of Trabuco Hills and Eunice Choi of Laguna Hills shot one-over 35 at Pacific Golf Club. Trabuco Hills (16-1, 7-0) clinched its fifth consecutive league championship.
