LAGUNA NIGUEL : Museum Recruiting Volunteer Docents
The Orange County Natural History Museum is asking for volunteers to lead visitors on tours of the facility.
“Just having a building with scientific exhibits isn’t enough,” said Sunny Anderson, president of the Orange County Natural History Assn. “You have to tell people about what they’re seeing.”
Potential docents will take an eight-week training course touching on archeology, zoology and biology that will familiarize them with the museum’s exhibits.
The first docent orientation meeting will be at the museum, 278281 La Paz Road, Suite G, on June 2 at 7 p.m. The natural history museum is in the Plaza de la Paz shopping center near the intersection of La Paz Road and Pacific Park Drive. Call (714) 831-6625 for details.
