She Won’t Have to Pay: A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday rejected 20th Century Fox’s request to make Tracey Ullman pay up to $900,000 in attorneys’ fees the studio spent to defend itself against the actress’s lawsuit over profits from “The Simpsons,” which spun off from her defunct “Tracey Ullman Show.” Ullman, who had contended her contract gave her partial rights to any characters created on her 1987-90 program, lost her lawsuit seeking 10% of “The Simpsons’ ” profits when a jury found the rights applied only to characters Ullman created and portrayed.
