Bishop O’Dowd Wins in Lacrosse
MISSION VIEJO — Oakland Bishop O’Dowd defeated three-time defending champion Poway, 8-4, Sunday at Trabuco Hills High to win the State high school lacrosse title.
The Bishop O’Dowd defense, led by defenders Mike Silva and Adam Reilly and goalkeeper Kris Trocha, the tournament’s most valuable player, held Poway 12 goals below its average. In the third-place game, El Toro beat Irvine, 13-6.
