SCC’s Wieczorek Signs With Astros
Ted Wieczorek, Southern California College first baseman, has signed a minor-league contract with the Houston Astros. The Astros drafted Wieczorek, a junior who batted .353 with eight home runs and 41 runs batted in, in the 33rd round of the free-agent draft last week.
Wieczorek will start his professional career with the Astros’ Albany, N.Y., rookie league team.
