Flag Day

June 14 was Flag Day. Our building was the only one displaying a flag on our entire block. I remember how important it was to display the American flag on Flag Day, as well as other patriotic holidays, when I was a child. Most of these flags were proudly displayed by folks who came from many other lands or whose parents or grandparents did. Things certainly have changed--and not for the better, I may add. Bring back the good old days.
