PIRU : Brush Fire Pushed Near Los Padres Forest
More than 200 firefighters were battling a 100-acre brush fire Sunday night that started near Piru and was pushed toward Los Padres National Forest by erratic winds.
Firefighters from the Ventura County Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service joined forces to fight the blaze, which started at about 2:20 p.m. on a rocky hillside above Center Street.
No buildings were threatened and no one was injured, a Fire Department spokesman said. The cause of the fire was not known.
