Dornans’ Honesty to Be Commended
* Like him or hate him, Bob Dornan is a rare politician--he tells you where he stands on an issue without the typical political rhetoric.
Now the Dornans have gone public with a valiant story (“Dornans Go Public With Private Pain,” June 24) of Sallie Dornan’s addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol. Sallie should be a role model for others fighting the same battle on a daily basis.
I am only sorry that today’s political climate mandates such a private and personal battle going public.
The Dornans’ upfront honesty and candor about this very delicate issue go well beyond the requirements of public information, and they should be commended for bringing this to the attention of the public. We all wish Sallie success in fighting her battle one day at a time.
