ANAHEIM : Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Curb
A 19-year-old motorcycle rider traveling at more than 100 m.p.h. was killed early Tuesday morning after he hit a curb on a freeway exit off-ramp, the California Highway Patrol said.
Justin Scott Bailey of Anaheim was thrown more than 30 feet and hit his head on a wooden signpost in the 1:50 a.m. accident, which occurred on the Ball Road off-ramp of the southbound Santa Ana Freeway.
Bailey was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with head and chest injuries. He was pronounced dead at 2:38 a.m.
His passenger, Charles Payne, 19, of Anaheim suffered minor injuries and was treated at Western Medical Center-Anaheim and released.
Both Bailey and Payne were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, CHP officer Tamara Baarts said.
