Police Identify Man Killed in Stabbing, Suspect Robbery Try
STANTON — A stabbing victim found over the weekend was identified Tuesday as an Anaheim man who might have been killed during a robbery, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Martin Casillas Luna, 21, was found lying Sunday morning in front of an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Katella Avenue, Lt. Dick Olson said.
He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead at 3:17 a.m. An autopsy determined that he died of stab wounds to the upper body, Olson said.
Luna’s friends contacted authorities after he did not return home. Officials said Luna was visiting friends in the complex when the attack occurred.
Homicide investigators believe that the stabbing happened during a robbery and was not gang-related, Olson said.
“We’re still trying to determine what was taken from him,” Olson said.
