Refreshingly, Scott Ends Laker Career With Class
With so many modern athletes who do little but complain about the public, media, teammates, coaches and management, Byron Scott’s comments regarding the end of his Laker career were a breath of fresh air.
No bitterness, no remorse. Nothing but words of understanding, warm memories and good wishes for all.
Many of us longtime Laker fans remember the difficult situation Byron encountered replacing the popular Norm Nixon. His growth and maturity as a player helped the Lakers to three championships. With Magic and Michael Cooper, they were arguably one of the best backcourts in NBA history.
No matter what color uniform Byron Scott wears next year, Laker fans will always remember his being a part of greatness. The man has a championship character to go with his championship rings.
