KCET Officials Satisfied With August Pledge Total of $773,663
Officials at KCET expressed satisfaction with the outcome of this month’s pledge drive, even though contributions were down from last August’s drive.
The 13-day viewer campaign, which ended Monday, attracted 11,029 pledges and totaled $773,663. Officials had hoped to equal last August’s drive, which netted $853,713 from viewers, but said they were happy nevertheless.
“Given the state of the economy, we’re very pleased,” said Laurel Lambert, spokeswoman for the station.
At the same time, Orange County public television station KOCE Channel 50 raised $179,000 with its August pledge drive, besting last summer’s tally by about $8,000. The dollar total represents 2,664 pledges in new memberships and gifts.
