PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : More of Bell Needed Monday
After sitting out the first four games because of a hamstring injury, Nick Bell returned last week to give the Raiders’ a boost in their 24-20 victory over the New York Jets.
Bell got the call after rookie Greg Robinson suffered a slight concussion in the first half. In 12 carries, Bell rushed for a game-high 46 yards, including a game-winning one-yard touchdown.
Coach Art Shell was pleased with Bell’s first effort of the season and hopes to see the same Monday night against the Denver Broncos.
“It depends on his health,” Shell said Friday. “He got a lot of snaps last week and he’ll get his share of work this week.”

David Fulcher is making his second try with the Raiders as an outside linebacker. Fulcher, the former Cincinnati safety who was released in training camp by the Raiders, signed again with the team Wednesday and may play this week. “I was waiting for a lot of people to get hurt and hoping that something would turn up,” Fulcher said. . . . Quarterback Jeff Hostetler, who did not play well against the Jets because of injuries and was benched in favor of Vince Evans, has practiced well this week and will start against Denver.
