WALNUT PARK : Office Gives Access to County Officials
The Walnut Park Community and Merchants associations will open their storefront office this week, creating a satellite headquarters where residents can meet with county officials.
Two of Supervisor Gloria Molina’s representatives have scheduled office hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays. Officials from the county’s Community Development Commission will be available to meet with business owners from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Zoning officials are also expected to set office hours. All schedules are subject to change.
“Now we’ll have direct access to our supervisor,” said Mike Gomez, vice president of the community association. “So if somebody has a real beef or needs information, they’ll know where to go.”
Rent for the office will be funded through a $25,000 Community Development Block Grant administered by the county.
