Driver Killed in Anaheim Accident
ANAHEIM — A 29-year-old man died Friday afternoon after he lost control of his truck on Harbor Boulevard, rolled down an embankment and smashed into two trees, police said.
The driver, identified as Miguel Ramirez, was trying to change lanes when the accident occurred, police said. No hometown was listed for the victim.
Ramirez reportedly was traveling faster than the the flow of traffic and had changed lanes several times before the 3:57 p.m. accident north of Manchester Avenue.
Police said that during the final lane change, Ramirez’s truck struck the center divider of the road, crashed into a car, went over the embankment and smashed into the trees.
Ramirez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with major head injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4:47 p.m., police said.
The occupants of the car, which spun over to the south side of the road after it was hit, were not injured in the collision, police said.
