Turner Acquires Rights to Warner Bros. Movies: Turner Classic Movies, yet another cable network from Turner Broadcasting System Inc., said it acquired the rights to more than 200 of Warner Bros.’ most popular movies. The cable network is set to begin broadcasting in April, 1994. Warner Bros. movies that Turner Classic Movies is licensing include “A Streetcar Named Desire,” “East of Eden,” “Around the World in 80 Days” and “The Exorcist.” Turner reached a similar pact with Paramount Communications Inc. in August for more than 300 movies, including “Sunset Boulevard” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Warner Bros. is a unit of Time Warner Inc.
