Seven Charged in Alleged Insurance Scam: Authorities have charged a group including doctors, chiropractors and a lawyer in connection with an alleged insurance fraud conspiracy in Southern California. The seven suspects arranged or submitted insurance claims for what authorities believe were a total of nine staged auto accidents and three bogus “slip and fall” mishaps, said James Murawski, a detective supervisor in the L.A. Police Department’s organized crime intelligence division. Those charged include Los Angeles doctors Benjamin Gross and Rozalia Kovelman, chiropractors Bradley Keith Quick of Santa Rosa and Aaron Polk of Inglewood, and Los Angeles lawyer Allen Dale West, who remains at large. Also charged were Kenneth Gottlieb, a former attorney currently serving a five-year sentence for insurance fraud at the California state prison in Jamestown, and Bernard Collura of Northridge, an office administrator for Gottlieb and West.
