MANORVILLE, N.Y. — Twenty-nine thoroughbreds valued at a total of $2 million were killed Tuesday in a fire that leveled their two-story barn on eastern Long Island.
Stable worker Rick Hazelton and Maude Frank, who owns Manor Horse Farm, were driven back by heat after managing to save six horses, including My Memoirs, the runner-up in the 1992 Belmont Stakes.
