Several gunmen stole about $15,000 from an Office Depot early Thursday after tying up workers, police said.

Eight contracted employees were remodeling the business at 2747 Campus Drive about 2 a.m., Lt. Sam Allevato said. One was standing outside in the back when about five men with guns made him go inside.

The robbers gathered all the employees, bound them with duct tape and made them lie on the floor, police said. They ordered the store manager to open the safe and took about $15,000.

They then stole money and wallets from the victims on the ground, kicking and cursing some the victims for not understanding English, Allevato said.

No one was seriously hurt, he said.

The gunmen escaped in a car, which the victims could not see, police said.
