Soccer Goalie Badly Injured
MISSION VIEJO — Capistrano Valley goalkeeper Jason Felix was admitted to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center’s intensive care unit Wednesday after being knocked unconscious during a boys’ soccer game against Mission Viejo.
Felix was attempting to cover a shot when Diablo forward Shane Lex hit him in the side of the head with his knee.
A hospital spokeswoman would not release Felix’s condition.
Mission Viejo won the South Coast League game, 1-0.
