THOUSAND OAKS : Man Arrested in Dec. 31 Assault
Sheriff’s deputies in Thousand Oaks have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman in her motel room on New Year’s Eve, authorities said.
William Franklin Goff was taken into custody Monday and booked into jail at the East County Sheriff’s Station. He was released later that day on his promise to appear in Ventura County Municipal Court on Jan. 31.
The arrest came after the woman told sheriff’s detectives that Goff sexually assaulted her inside her motel room after they had attended a party in Simi Valley on New Year’s Eve.
The woman told deputies she had become intoxicated at the party and allowed Goff, with whom she was acquainted, to drive her back to her motel room in Thousand Oaks. She then asked him to leave and passed out on the bed.
According to the woman, she later discovered that Goff undressed her and sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious, sheriff’s deputies said.
