Haugen Headlines Irvine Boxing
IRVINE — Three-time world champion Greg Haugen headlines the 100th boxing show at the Irvine Marriott ballroom tonight.
Haugen (35-5, 18 knockouts) will fight Ray Garcia (8-6, four knockouts) of Caldwell, Idaho, in a 10-round junior lightweight bout.
Haugen, ranked ninth by the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Council, has fought only once since being knocked out in the fifth round by Julio Caesar Chavez in February 1992.
The five-bout undercard, which begins at 7:30, will be highlighted by the four-round bantamweight fight between Joe Manzano (7-2) of San Pedro and Manoru Fuyumura (4-1) of Los Angeles. The remaining 300 tickets will go on sale this morning at the Marriott. Tickets are $35, $30 and $25.
